Slut-Shame On You

Someone should call the Breast Cancer Society for a comment. Do we love boobies or not?

Lauren Miranda, a teacher who lives in New York, is suing for gender discrimination.

She sent a topless photo to her boyfriend a few years ago. He also works at Bellport Middle School. After they broke up, a student somehow got hold of the pic and it spread like wildfire. It doesn’t take a brainiac to figure this one out.

We would probably have sympathy for an elderly obese lady, but because Miranda is hot, she got fired for being a bad role model. In other words, she is being slut-shamed.

Let’s turn to the law.

New York Section 245.10: “Nudity” means . . . the showing of the female breast with less than a fully opaque covering of any portion thereof below the top of the nipple . . .

This legalese reveals that showing female nipples, which aren’t that different from male nipples, is against the law.

Ms. Miranda didn’t show her nipples in public; the students did. They should be arrested.

Instead of seeking justice by tracing her photo’s chain of command back to the original leaker, Miranda cleverly saw the bigger picture. She has turned this situation around by means of a federal lawsuit challenging gender inequality with the potential for a nice financial payoff.

Funny enough, Miranda is, or rather was, a math teacher. I can’t think of a better way for this woman to make others add up the numbers, as in dollars, with one very clear message:

Slut-Shame on You.
