The Passover: Murder and a Meal

Today’s religious holiday stems from the bible to include murder and a meal for circumcised men. Yeah, it’s weird.

God was angry with the Egyptian Pharaoh for not releasing Israelite slaves and afflicted punishment in the form of ten plagues. The Passover was plague number ten.

From Sex in the Name of God, Chapter 2: The Penis Pact

Great detail was given about how to select, prepare, and cook a lamb.

Exodus 12 43 The LORD said to Moses and Aaron, “This is the ordinance of the Passover. No foreigner shall eat of it, 44 but every man’s servant who is bought for money, when you have circumcised him, then shall he eat of it. 45 A foreigner and a hired servant shall not eat of it. 46 It must be eaten in one house. You shall not carry any of the meat outside of the house. Do not break any of its bones. 47 All the congregation of Israel shall keep it. 48 When a stranger lives as a foreigner with you, and would like to keep the Passover to the LORD, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it. He shall be as one who is born in the land; but no uncircumcised person shall eat of it.” read more

Why Shouldn’t We Give Up On God?

We all know about the daily heartbreak families go through: horrible accidents, disease, genocide.  But let’s think larger.

We have come to understand dinosaurs, volcanoes, early humans, rainbows and eclipses, thunder and lightning, even plate tectonics.  But we just can’t give up on God.  We have chosen blind faith and are able to overlook so many discrepancies such as how old the earth is, and the evidence of the relatively short-lived existence of humans on our planet.

People used to believe that the sun orbited earth and that the earth was flat.  Today we have the car, the microwave, and the computer. read more

The Bible: The Good Book of Murder

I am going to write a book.  But first I need to do a lot of research, and that involves reading the Bible.  I have never read it page to page.  Twice in my life I started to read the Bible, but burned out in the first chapter on both occasions.

So far I am still in the Old Testament.  It is an incredible read.  We are not talking sex, drugs, and rock and roll, but rather incest and murder.

I am seriously wondering if this God is tricking people as the devil in disguise.  God is mean, evil, vindictive, murderous, controlling, and contradictory.  How is it that millions of people are able to reconcile his actions?  It gives a whole new feeling to the term “God-fearing people”.  You should fear him.  He is one cruel and twisted dude. read more
