The New Catholic Slogan: Priests will be Priests

This blog is inspired by a recent news article I read, and posted, about the Pope’s anniversary being marked with the sentencing of convicted child molester, George Pell. The last sentence in the article reads, “And in the U.S., a Gallup poll found 37 percent of U.S. Catholics question remaining in the church.” –Associated Press.

WTF!? What is there to think about?

Yet, I have seen many documentaries where abused children who are now adults still question whether or not they should belong to this sick society. They can’t come to terms with their want for God and faith within the frames of this network. Even their own family members still argue for the religious cause that did their child in.

Questioning faith is one thing. But, the reality that people can byline child-humping is more than disturbing. Followers who downplay egregious behaviors are no better than the disgusting perverts they seek to harbor.

The vocal minority and the silent majority are both reasons why people are leaving this twisted cult in droves.

For those who choose to justify and defend the Catholic faith, I have a suggestion. In order to get new recruits, their money, and their little boys, try revamping an old slogan with a catchy new twist as follows: “Priests will be Priests.”

From Sex in the Name of God, Chapter 8

Leviticus 20 13 If a man lies with a male, as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon themselves.

It is unclear what practicing priests don’t understand about that passage.
